The Midnight Run Project 365

It’s my good friend’s birthday, and his girlfriend made this cake. This was the cake as she served it out to the other party guests.

The big guitar is my classical guitar. The small one was a gift from a good friend when he visited his family in Hong Kong.

It rained in the afternoon. I took a photo on my way to my car as I went home.

I was looking forward to the 4th of July fireworks today. I even reviewed my photography book to review the proper camera settings for shooting fireworks the night before.

Alas, the weather wasn’t cooperating. It never stopped raining once darkness fell.

What you see here is Plan B.

Most of the other Pinoys here went up to the mountains for the July 4th weekend, so the rest of us who were left decided to have our own small party.

We had dinner and played cards up to 3 am. This is a Filipino card game called Pekwa. We punished the loser of each round by writing on his or her face with lipstick.

I was on my way to my car after a full day at the office, and I was still wondering what I’d be shooting for Project 365.

When I stepped out of the building, I saw that the sprinklers by my car were on. I didn’t know how much longer they’d be going, so I tried to take as many pictures as I could. I had to dodge water a few times when the other spouts pointed my way.

I was shooting blind (holding the camera close to the ground) and hoped that I would get lucky with a well focused shot, but alas, it didn’t happen.

Still having a dearth of ideas for photos, so I just settled.

This is a puzzle (of sorts) that my coworker gave me. At the time I kept puzzles at my desk for my visitors to play with.

It’s the end of the work day, and I’m the only one still at the office. I thought I would prowl around with my camera in hand.

These are oranges on my coworker’s desk, catching the last of the setting sun.
