Another late day shower. The pine trees in the parking lot still had droplets of water when the sun emerged from behind the clouds.

Day 188: Wet Pines

Thursday, June 10th, 2010Day 160: Tie a Green Ribbon ’round the old Pine tree
Wednesday, June 9th, 2010At least two trees behind our office have these green ribbons tied around them, and I think we figured out what they mean. We noticed that the other pine tree, like this one, was losing its needles. The ribbon might be a marking about the condition of the tree (maybe an infestation of some sort). I hope it means they’ll treat it to make it better, and not just cut it down.
Day 154: Reflections of Reflections
Thursday, June 3rd, 2010Day 153: The Unlikely Pollinator
Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010The lone yellow flower I took a picture of not long ago is now just one among many. I thought I’d try taking a shot of them again in their abundance.
I was about to stow away my camera when I noticed this fly on one of the flowers. I then tried to get as many pictures as I could.
My friends were standing not far away. When the fly finally flew away after 5 minutes of “click”, “click”, “click”, I looked up and saw that all three were watching me, probably thinking how strange their friend was, who got excited about taking pictures of a fly on a flower.
Day 151: Little White Flowers
Monday, May 31st, 2010Today’s Memorial Day, and my wife and I just enjoyed the holiday by staying at home (we were still tired from the picnic the day before).
I thought I would have to think hard for my photo for the day, since I wouldn’t be leaving my place today, but I saw that the shrubs in front of our apartment was starting to bloom with white small flowers (that smell nice, by the way).
Day 145: Infinite Tree Barks
Tuesday, May 25th, 2010These tree barks just happened to arrange themselves in this pattern on the pavement. It acted as a conversation starter with my friend, who noticed how they look almost like an infinity symbol. My friend then went on to say how he’s always wondered about the mysterious nature of infinity, and that if you had a sequence on numbers that goes [1, 2, 3, ...] and [10, 20, 30, ...], the sum of the numbers in each set would be infinity, but the sum of [10, 20, 30, ...] would be larger than that of [1, 2, 3, ...]. ‘There’s probably a mathematical way to prove it, but I’ll take his word for it.
I told him that because of that (arguably) fascinating conversation, I had to take a picture of the conversation starter for posterity.
