I bought strawberries over the weekend. Little did I know that they’ll become my subject for today.
Strawberry in a tray with water. Backlight diffused with the only green paper that I could find.
Another full day of work. It looks like this will be the shape of things to come: Just taking a picture of whatever I happen to eat.
Several coworkers were working late, and one of them offered to buy me dinner. I already ate, so I just got a small order of Negi Hamachi Rolls (yellow fin tuna with scallions).
The food was delivered, I took a few shots, and promptly ate the sushi. Mmm. Sushi.
Not particularly happy about posting another food shot just after doing the same yesterday, but it’s alright. I can deal with that. At the very least, I got to see depth of field in action at f/5.3.
Today was the first day I had a taste of what it’s like to do Project 365 with a full day of work. I didn’t have the energy to do anything that involved a lot of work, so I made my dinner plans with the thought that what ever I’ll eat will be my subject for today.
I remembered that Tokyo Joe’s has nice halogen lighting, their food had a good mix of colors (thanks to the vegetables) and were in bowls that complement what’s in them. Plus, it was a short walk away.
I ordered a bowl of chicken, white rice and vegetables with Yakitori sauce.
All in all, I think the shot’s good enough. I wish I could go back and change a few things (like getting the tip of the fork in better focus and choosing a table with fewer surface flaws), but I was too eager to empty the bowl. I was very hungry.
