Day 171: Racer Crossing Bridge

My wife and I went out grocery shopping. I spotted this bridge, and I thought I might be able to take pictures of it for Project 365.

Apparently there was a race that day, since one bike after another came zooming by, and most of the riders had numbers pinned on their back.

Day 165: Nightfall at the Office

Day 165: Nightfall at the Office

The sun was setting, and I was still in the office. This shot was taken from the building’s atrium.

I mistakenly shot it in the wrong white balance, but it looked better with that setting, so I just used it.

Day 154: Reflections of Reflections

Day 154: Reflections of Reflections

Still experimenting with the UWA. Our all-glass building was reflecting the trees surrounding it, and from a certain angle, it reflects again on the part of the building that houses the stairwell.

Day 152: Blue Greenhouse?

Day 152: Blue Greenhouse?

Another experiment with my UWA lens. This is a shot of the office building’s atrium. I just pointed the camera up and shot from the base of the elevators.

This shot disorients me. It looks more like a glass house of sorts, but the “roof” of this shot is actually the front side of the buildling, and the points of light on the sides are the ceiling lights on the 2nd and 3rd floors.

Day 148: Street Lamp and Avaya Building

Day 148: Street Lamp and Avaya Building

Not much in the way of creativity today. It was the end of the day, and I was about to step into my car thinking that I still had no shot for the day, then I looked to my left.

The lamp post was on my side of the street, and the big satellite dish-inspired building is on the other side. I don’t know what it was about this scene, but I thought I’d take a picture of it.

Day 146: Bike by Building

Day 146: Bike by Building

I’m still in the process of discovering what my new lens can do and how I can/should use it.

This the a bike of one of the cleaning crew staff, whom I know reasonably well because I always work late and I’m often still around when they come to clean the office building.

Day 144: The Office at Sunset

Day 144: The Office at Sunset

Finally, after three months of careful consideration and two weeks of waiting for delivery, my new toy arrived: an ultra-wide angle lens!

On the way to my car after work, I looked back and saw the sun reflecting off of the corner of our office’s glass exterior. I thought I might as well give my new lens a whirl.

I’m still in the process of trying to learn how to use it properly, but from this very brief test, I can already tell that it’s going to be fun using this lens.

Day 128: The Ceiling Fan

Day 128: The Ceiling Fan

We went to a party, and our hosts had this ceiling fan in their living room. I thought it had an interesting play of shadows, shades, and geometry.

Day 108: The Stanley Hotel

Day 108: The Stanley Hotel

It’s the day after the wedding, and our very good friends who flew in from other states for our wedding have planned a full day of sight-seeing.

We ended up in Estes Park not long before the sun went down. This is the Stanley Hotel, the inspiration for Stephen King’s horror novel, “The Shining”.

Day 104: The Office

Day 104: The Office

The facade of the office building, shot before I went out to pick my mother up from the airport, who was flying in for our upcoming wedding.
