This light blue feather has been on the grass at the back of the office for the past three days. I suspect it was part of a costume or some toy.

Monday, March 29th, 2010Day 87: Chinese Statue
Sunday, March 28th, 2010We had dim sum for lunch with four of our very good friends at the local “Asian District”. After lunch and on our way to have coffee at the Vietnamese place not far away from the dim sum place, I saw a Chinese merchandise store and thought to myself that a bonanza of Project 365 subjects are inside just calling out to be photographed.
After coffee and saying goodbyes, my fiancée and I went to the Chinese shop. I pulled out my camera, turned it on, composed, pressed the shutter release and… nothing happened.
I left my flash card stuck in my computer at home, and my spare SD card wasn’t in my bag.
So as not to be without a photo for the day, I used my cellphone instead. It was the first time I took a photo with it and then viewed the result on my monitor, and I was pleasantly surprised at how decently it captured an image (granted, I wasn’t expecting much at all). It’s not terrific, but I’m glad to find out that its performance is good enough in a pinch.

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010Day 82: Storm Rolling In
Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010A big snow storm came in today. I looked out from my office window and saw the storm clouds rolling in. 2 hours later, the snow started to REALLY come down. The drive home was horrendous. Visibility was poor, traffic was slow and the snow made my side mirrors almost unusable, but I made it home in one piece.
Day 81: Birds in Love
Monday, March 22nd, 2010Spring is in the air.
I was out at the back of the office when I noticed these two birds just hanging out on separate branches on the same tree. Not sure what they are. They looked like doves, but had dark stripes at the back of their necks, and they’re more slender than any dove or pigeon I’ve seen.
Anyway, they flew to the same branch and looked like they started grooming each other. As I was grabbing my camera, they started copulating, but they were done by the time I was close enough to shoot. It must have taken them 5 seconds at most.
So here they are, looking in the distance after making love.
I went back in the office and didn’t come out again after a couple of hours. They were still there. After a few minutes they flew away together. I wonder if they’re the kind that pairs for life.
