Went out for lunch at a local Italian restaurant. They serve water with a slice of lemon.

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010Day 46: Hard Drive Innards
Monday, February 15th, 2010A coworker in the IT department was busy taking apart failed hard drives from a server so as to render the data in them irretrievable.
I borrowed one that had already opened, positioned it so the light from the windows reflected on it, then took a few shots. It soon met its complete demise after I gave it back to my coworker.
Day 45: Wooden Heart
Sunday, February 14th, 2010My unpacking continues. I saw this among the things that my Mom asked me to hold on for her when she moved out-of-state. It’s something in which to hang necklaces. Only then did I remember that it was Valentine’s day. I looked to my right around, and there was my fluffy red blanket on a pile on the floor.
Things seemed to have conspired for me to take a Valentine’s-themed photo.
Day 44: Scooter
Saturday, February 13th, 2010I dropped by the old apartment to pick up the remainder of the items I left there.
My neighbors saw my car parked by the building. They knocked on my door. In their hands was a leash, and on the other end of it was this cute dog they had just rescued from the shelter.
His name is Scooter. He’s a couple of months old, and very cute.
I learned from this shoot just how difficult it is to take a picture of a subject that just will not stand still. I now have a renewed admiration of people who manage to observe things like the rule of thirds for such subjects. As it was, I was lucky to even have a shot that wasn’t blurred.

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010Day 40: The Janitor’s Closet
Tuesday, February 9th, 2010Another late night at the office. On my way out, I walked past the open cleaning supply closet and did a double-take. I’ve always wanted to take a picture of it, so I quickly pulled my camera out of my bag and took pictures before the cleaning crew saw me. I’m sure they wouldn’t mind. They see me all the time, and I’ve shared a few laughs with them. But somehow I didn’t want to have to explain why I was taking pictures of a sink.
